Ever since AA announced ORD-DME, I've been hellbent to get out to Russia. All I can think about is getting on one of these:

The moment I see NW putting one on an AMS flight next summer I'm booking that and the KL 772 in a heartbeat!

I'd love to get back on an MD-11. I had just gotten old enough to appreciate its magesty when SR took it off the JFK-GVA route and I miss it so much!

Others include 777 (200 and 300), CRJ-700/900, EMB-190, 737-900, IL-96, A380, 747 (upper deck!), and ATR-72 (been so long, I'd love to go back to JTR with OA!)

Hi Dan,
The 727-100 will be hard. The only way I can think of is the Ecuadorian Air Force 727-100. I visited it in May in Quito and it looks great, in full pax configuration. But it is not dispatched on commercial flights, but I think there are some essential services the Air Force flies with it on which tickets will be sold.
The 1-11; it doesn't fly with SCAT anymore but now I read Tombouctou Aviation in Mali has two 400s and will fly scheduled services with them! Let's pack for Mali
The FH-227 is really impossible. I have tried in Argentina, Mexico and Honduras to fly on it, but now it's just not flying anymore. HR-ASK in Honduras was the last one flying in 2004. The only airworthy FH-227 now is with the Burmese Air Force. The Fairchild F-27 should be possible though, there should be one flying in Honduras. I tried to get on the Fairchild built F-27s in Ecuador and Bolivia but they hardly fly.

That's interesting, I didn't actually know about that one, I should be going to Equador in summer 2009, so I'll definately get on it then, if it's still flying! I was actually thinking about a skydiving company in the US, they operate a 727-100 for mass jumps - when you need a few more seats onboard than a couple of DHC6's can give you.

Quoting MEA-707 (Reply 16):
The 1-11; it doesn't fly with SCAT anymore but now I read Tombouctou Aviation in Mali has two 400s and will fly scheduled services with them! Let's pack for Mali

Hadn't heard about that either - I was thinking about Daalo airlines who 'modernised' their fleet and replaced the Il-18 with a 1-11! Mali sounds good though, a bit safer no doubt than Somalia at the moment.

Darn, that's a shame, I'd heard it was still operating in Central America - but I guess not anymore  Sad Still, can't have them all I suppose.

Way too many to mention...

I would love to step back in time and fly aboard a Boeing Stratocruiser, a Constellation, or a DC-7. A ride aboard a WWII bomber such as a B-29, B-17, or B-24 would be great as well. Any open cockpit biplane would be a great ride as well.

As for modern jetliners, I have yet to fly any of the E-Jets (E-175, E-190)...they look really nice. I would also like to fly aboard any of the modern Russian planes....IL-96, TU-204.

One more ride on a 707 or early DC-8 would be perfect!

I'm shocked - I just found this thread, and I had to read through it a few times to check, but is no one else really interested in....

SpaceShipTwo
White Knight Two

????

Add to that for me (and I saw others with the same line of thought)
Spitfire
Hurricane
Lancaster
(The Spit and Lanc are doable at least, not sure about rides in Hurri's)
Canso (getting harder for sure)
DH Vampire (or derivative)
Me-262
Something, anything, really, really fast...CF-18 or better
Harrier
(Of course, each of these rides has to include the key feature for the type - water for the Canso, VTOL for the Harrier, Mach 1.x for the go fast, and of course vacuum for ss2, etc.)
Tower, Affirmitive, gear is down and welded

DC9 NW any version; I guess I could just get to the US and fly on Northwest.
A300 TG probably the best for this.
A310 RJ BKK-HKG
A321 JQ might try and tick it off my list this year.
A340 EK have this flight booked so hopefully no change of schedule on EKs part.
Why fly non stop when you can connect

I'd love to fly on a 727-100, DC8, 707 (even a military one would do) and any Russian type. Of the modern types, my first priority is the A380, then the A340-500 (flown on all the other versions), A318, Jetstream 41, 737-900ER, DC10-30 (already done the -40), 757-300 and the Herk.

Most of my "must fly" aircraft are gaps in model lines that I've missed, such as the 753 and 318, above.
