I'm an anxious flyer. I handle it ok, but there are things I do that help give me the illusion of being safer. One of those is choice of aircraft I fly on. I much prefer newer planes -- probably no surprise there.
I am flying from SFO into Bangkok and back home out of Hanoi soon.
My choice is between Eva Air, and Asiana.
Eva has brand spanking new 777-300ERs on all legs except for the leg between Hanoi and Taipei, an older md-90. Asiana flies new (but not quite as new) 777-200s for the long leg, and older 767s (10-15 yrs old) on the Seoul - BKK and Hanoi - Seoul routes.
I know it doesn't matter, both will in all likelihood be perfect choices, but what would you do? I will be flying economy on all, and the long haul flights are comparable in length.
