Need HPN Travel Information Plaese

Thu Aug 28, 2008 2:47 pm

I am flying out of HPN tomorrow and returning Tuesday.
Will be taking metro-north from the city to white plains station.
Are there taxis @ the White Plains train station? How much is the trip to HPN terminal?

Thanks in advance.

Just did this exact thing this past weekend... super easy!

There are taxis, but there's is a public bus (Westchester County Bee Line AirLink) that runs from the train station to the airport... it stops right by where the taxi's line up on the east side (northbound tracks) of the train station. Look for the bus stop sign (the front of it faces north... just to the left when you exit the station)... and you can use your Metrocard! Here's the link to the bus schedule: http://beelinebus.westchestergov.com...les/web_pdf_timetables/airlink.pdf

If for some reason you miss the bus at the station, the public bus hub is one block east (you can see it from the train station parking lot) AirLink bus leaves from pier D.

HPN is GREAT.... was through security in 2 minutes, and it only took 50 minutes to get to White Plains on the train out of GCT... 40 minutes on return. It takes the same amount of time to get to JFK on the subway! I took the 6:49am train out of GCT and was through security by 8:10 am.

Am bummed CO is pulling out of HPN now that I've discovered it... I connected in Cleveland... very easy, on time, and was upgraded both ways on my CLE-LAX flight, whereas it's difficult to get upgraded EWR-LAX, even for Platinums.

Have fun.

I live maybe five miles from HPN, so a bit surprised to see this thread...

If you'd rather take the taxi will probably cost about $10 from White Plains station, maybe a bit more. The taxis line up at the bottom of the stairs on the east side of the station-next to the parking lot.

Make sure to take the express train from GCT to White Plains though-that will save you a bit of time. The express trains are 35 minutes, normal trains about 50 minutes.

Um this can be really hit or miss. Depending on time of day (and how many flights are leaving) security can take much longer! Also the gate/air side/waiting area is VERY small.

Today's quiz: What's the logic behind naming it HPN?
