Non-Rev On AF CDG-JED?

Mon Sep 08, 2008 10:39 am

Is it possible to travel on the AF service to JED with their A319? Isn´t that some sort of premium service?

Thanks in advance.  Smile

I'm sure you could travel on it, but why? You won't be able to get a visa for Saudi as they don't accept tourists. It's pointless transiting the place cos if something goes wrong you might end up in trouble. JED is not like a luxury airport and taking photos is a criminal offence.

SV routes eastbound are very unreliable, unlike their westbound European routes.
and with that..cabin crew, seats for landing please.

Hi OHLHD !

I already answered your question in a private message but I do it again here as it might help other A.Netters :

You can travel non-rev on all the A319LR "Dedicate" flights the same way you do on all the AF network but you must know that those flights are popular and often fully booked (only 54 Y seats and 28 J). No problems for upgrades when Y is full if some empty seats are available in J (on AF, Non-Rev are in priority upgraded in J when Y is full).

The only problem for non-rev on these flights were weight restrictions on the longest lights like CDG-PNR (now operated with A332) or CDG-KWI & CDG-DOH (no more operated by AF).

Well Big grin to be honest with you, it would be just for fun. I always try to do some crazy stunts like that. But trust me I have always some extra tickets in my backpack. Actually my goal would be to travel onward to BOM on one of the SV B741.  Smile

In that case, I would advise you to fly the AF A319LR "Dedicate" to NKC, rather han JED or RUH.
Much more interesting things to discover in Mauritania, where ou can travel freely and discover breathtaking landscapes rather than the backward kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
