Wrong Title In Reservation. Does It Matter?

Wed Sep 24, 2008 12:23 am

I just booked some tickets with Ryanair and accidentally chose the the female (Ms.) title for two of my male friends.

I selected "web check-in" so, basically, my question is: Does the title appear on the self-printed boarding passes? I've printed some in the past, but I can't remember now if it's there or not.

Thanks for the help.

BTW, the tickets are for domestic flights: GRO-MAD,MAD-GRO same day.

If you show up with a ticket with your name on it and you have ID, chances are it's ok. Even with a title slightly off.

I showed up for my JFK-GVA flight with 7 of my friends in 2007 and all their tickets were fine, but when the agent scanned mine is came up as "Ms. Kobaiyashima" or something. The ticket, however, had MY name on it, I had my passport, and everything else, so I got a boarding pass and everything was fine.

It should not matter. If there are any questions tell them it is their homepage fault. Big grin

No seriously I can´t see a problem why you should not get on board.  Smile

I've read stories on Dutch forums about a guy that had His name and last name on an FR ticket, but not his middle name (Which was on his passport) He ended up paying 80 euro's.

Might wanna give a call to FR Customer service

Oh, simply tell the check in agents your friends are transsexuals  biggrin

But seriously, a call to FR should solve it. they can easily change a title or even a name on a reservation (the question remains, of course, how happily they would do it free of charge...)

Ok, I just called FR and they changed me the titles for free. I am astonished they did something for free. Plus the call was very fast and in 1 minute they had the problem solved. I already recieved a new confirmation e-mail with the correct names and titles.

thumbsup  Thumbs up for Ryanair this time.

Excellent that this issue could be rectified by FR that fast.

Last year I mistyped my mum's first name for a booking with LH. Calling their res center, I got assured that such mistyping was of no concern for travel within Europe.

Last year my mom called her miles program (she has no computer) and booked her tickets, and they e-mailed the reservation to me. Her name is Margaret and her middle initial is A, but the reservation was typed in as "Margareta". The last name matched.

I called AA and asked them if this might be a problem, and they said, "oh, it's not a problem at all!", and it wasn't. TSA looked and matched it up.

Some mistakes are tiny and are easily overlooked. If they weren't, you'd have chaos in denying passengers' ability to travel!! However, you did the right thing by getting it corrected as quickly as possible.

I had trouble getting Frequent Flyer miles on HP because when I applied for my frequent flyer card online, I gave my name as Last Name, First Name when the website wanted it the other way...but hey, US has never bothered to mail me a new FF card anyways, so I'm chalking up my 50k miles at HP as all but lost  Wink
