Please Help - Honeymoon To Kenya & Seychelles

Mon Oct 06, 2008 2:07 pm

Hi All.

I come humbly asking for some help and advice. Next year i am finally marrying my longterm girlfriend on 3rd Oct. We are hoping to take our honeymoon in Kenya and Seychelles - ideally, we would like to fly from London to Mombassa or perhaps Niarobi, and then after spending a few days doing safari , fly onwards to the Seychelles for a week of relaxing by a nice beach somewhere.

We would look to leave UK on the 6th Oct 09. Can someone advise of either, means of accessing best flight deals with a good carrier - from UK - Kenya - Seychelles - UK, or does anybody know a good travel company that can help me piece together a good custom package for our requirements. I have to admit to being a little stumped but have informed my fiancee (whether foolishly or not) that the good people on a-net will be able to help.

Please please can someone point me in some good directions. Thanks in advance for any help.

Regards, HF

Quoting Hantsflyer27 (Thread starter):
3rd Oct.

A whole year in advance might be a bit long to find good deals on flights.

Overall, your fligth options are limited with those 2 destinations:
To my findings, there is only KQ flying nonstop between NBO and SEZ.
This leaves ...:
KL/KQ via AMS and NBO to SEZ with a stop on the outbound leg (probably one of the best options).
You can also try to get a nonstop from SEZ on AF (codeshare on HM-metal) to CDG and onward to the U.K.

Apart from these, there are only 2 arabic carriers serving both destinations: QR via DOH and EK via DXB. But for getting from NBO to SEZ you either have to use KQ on a seperate ticket (extra GBP) or fly back from NBO to DAH resp. DXB and then again to SEZ (lots of extra time in a a/c usually over night - this might not be something to be done during a honeymoon).

Any good website offering "multiple stops"-bookings should be able to give you an impression; if no flights are yet available for OCT-2009, use dummy dates in November 2008 or similar.

I assume you are looking into flying out of LHR and not SOU ?
If so, enter routings as follows in, say, expedia.co.uk:

LHR - NBO
NBO - SEZ
SEZ - LHR

If you want to go onto Safari in October, check the climate carefully and then decide on the region to head for. Most interesting sites can be reached from Nairobi, meaniing there is little reason to head to Mobasa first only to go back inland afterwards. As you plann to thead to the Seychelles anyhow, there is no point in going to the Beaches near Mombasa (use the time to spend an extra day at some fancy lodge and indulge an extra sunset in the East African landscape  sigh

Hi,

I've just got the latest Virgin Holidays Worldwide brochure and was pleasantly surprised at some of the prices they gave for twin centre holidays. It says that they can arrange any combination of places you want to visit. I was looking at a twin centre holiday in Singapre and Thailand, and the prices in the brochure were cheaper than getting flights and hotels separately, online. This may be the case with Kenya and the Seychelles too.

You also have the advantage of ATOL protection with a package holiday. Hope this helps  Smile
