Tokyo/Osaka Trip 6-15 Nov

Sat Nov 01, 2008 8:43 pm

Hey everyone,

I started this thread to (hopefully) get some last minute information and to see if someone is in Japan and would like to meet up. I'm travelling together with my dad and Roel Kroes (Diezel) on a standby basis and the trip reflects that. We have drawn a general outline for the trip but will let us guide by small things like the weather  Wink.

The plan as of today:
6 Nov: departure to KIX
7 Nov: Arrival at KIX, transfer to ITM, ITM
8-10 Nov: 2 days Kyoto, 1 day ITM
11-13 Nov: HND/NRT/Tokyo (all one day)
14 Nov: spare day
15 Nov: flight home

If you are around and would like to meet up, let me know!

Now for the questions we still have:

1) About ITM, what is the best way to get to and from the Skyland Harara/Itami on the other side of the runway? Our Japanese is lousy (more like: non existent) so that doesn't exactly help.

2) For the days at Haneda & Tokyo we figured it might be best to have a hotel close to Haneda, as the city can be reached quite well from there. Do you have any suggestions for a hotel that is reasonably close to Haneda and is easy to reach by public transport (metro/monorail etc)?

3) Do you have any other tips?

Thanks for any help you might have and perhaps we'll see you in the country of the rising Yen!

Hey guys/girls,

one additional question. The Marroad at NRT doesn't exactly get rave reviews at tripadvisor.com so we're wondering if it is still the place to be. We'll most likely just spend the night there before an 11am flight home. Another hotel I'm looking for is where this shot was taken from:

Anyone any comments on the Marroad or happen to know which the other hotel (see the shot above) is?

cheers,

Jurgen
