Tower Air Question?

With today's instant news and messaging on the web and message boards such as this one, would tower air have survived as long as it did with all the negative press I'm sure it would have gotten almost as soon as people stepped off the plane. Many sites have user reviews that come up right below the price results.
The only valid opinions are those based in facts

I doubt Tower Air would have lasted long in any event. Its idea of maintenance was literally to pray that the plane would hold together, and incessant delays of hours - that literally could turn into days - became the norm.

With everything else that can be heaped upon Tower Air, they did something that I don't think any other airline would ever do - they tricked passengers in various ways from checking in on time, and then claiming that it was the passengers' fault, so Tower Air would be absolved from their responsibility. I recall reading here at a.net that misdirecting passengers trying to check in was common, thereby re-directing them to the "correct" line, only to find they weren't checked in on time.

Please search the archives here - I'm sure you'll find some horror stories that make the Friday the 13th series look like a Disney movie!!

If the economics of flying classic 747 still worked, I dont doubt Tower could be around today.

With consumers primary concern being cost, Tower's $99 transcon rates, and $69 to Puerto Rico would still easily draw the 400+ passengers per flight.

Remember when Tower shut down, they never said they had a lack of customers.

If the price is right, I bet the consumer would fly inside a cargo plane if they could!

I remeber Tower Air charged $ 500 on there LAX-JFK run, I should know, I wanted to fly them back in the 90's when I was in High shcool, I guess I dodge a bullitt.

Tower Air was the worst flying exprience of my entire life. Thank g-d they are gone and I think they could of lasted because of cruise passengers, such as myself.

Being brief:

Celebrity Cruises booked my family's group on a Tower Air flight from JFK to SJU in a cruise-air package. Heart of the February NY cold weather, line outside streches forever to check-in. Once inside, absolute chaos as no "employee" knew what was going on. Flight delayed near 12 hours and no reason given at all.

Treated like absolute cattle inside the "terminal" pushed around by staff, forced in lines for no reason, etc.

I few members of my group actually called the local news, who said they would have come but did not have a crew avaialable.

Needless to say, plane had half of the in-flight audio not working. Half of the overhead lights not working and a crew who spoke no english and had no idea what to do on a plane..

Cutting though time to stick to Tower Air. Land in SJU as boat leaves, Celebrity does nothing to help. Route oursleves through Antigua to meet up with boat, sleep outside on a bench with my grandmother and wild dogs. LIAT was great......

Cruise ends and we had spoken to our travel attendent to get us the hell off of Tower so he had booked us on TWA, which was great. We get to SJU and just out of curiosity look at Tower's desk, had a sign saying something about "back Tuesday...wait." This was Saturday, this was when they officially went out....and we rejoiced in the airport, so no one would have to go through that again,
