CO Or DL From Edinburgh?

Sun Nov 16, 2008 2:28 pm

Which is better to New York
I don't have any preferences on JFK or EWR and it will be next summer.

Anyone got any experience or links to TR's?

Thanks.

No real insights, but in thread http://www.airliners.net/aviation-fo...s/aviation_polls/read.main/165163/ it was mentioned that DL's terminal at JFK is pretty busy.
Add to that the notoriously long departures queues at JFK during the afternoon departure bank to Europe.

I have no idea if the situation at EWR is significantly better.

Another question: Are both airports equally suitable located for your final destination ?

I would suggest CO. While EWR has departure cues at heavy departure times, CO does a good job at accounting for this in their schedule. Result is that they usually arrive on time. While DL international service is reported as improved, I find CO to be consistantly good in Y as well as Business First.

I'd go with DL. They seem to have better catering than CO on the transatlantic crossings.

I took CO EWR-EDI a few months ago and found it to be a good experience. Yes, we had to taxi for about 45 minutes before taking off from EWR, but that is not bad for both JFK and EWR during the evening rush. Cabin service was good in business first and the 757 is actually pretty comfortable in my opinion.

Delta.

757s transatlantics have retrofitted interiors (boeing signature), AVOD PTV in both classes, complimentary alcohol with meals in Y class.
Some see lines, others see between the lines.

Delta's 757 Y class seats are very comfortable, depending on if you fly coach or BE the BizElite seats can't be beat in comfort, and the food is pretty good.
