Pax Airliners Vs Cargo Airliners

Wed Nov 19, 2008 6:00 am

I recently switched from working around passenger aircraft to cargo aircraft. The size of the aircraft have increased greatly, but for some reason I just don't get the same feeling I get when around cargo aircraft. They are just so plain, aside from the giant cargo doors and massive empty cargo bays. Here are some things that I think make cargo airliners not as "cool" as pax ones.

*There's no windows - harder to visualize how big it is compared to people's faces; also - no one to watch you work, and/or no one for you to watch and laugh at :p
*Not typically parked close to a building/terminal - since they are on usually on remote stands, it's hard to compare the size to buildings.

Anyone else have any opinion on the matter?

RE: Pax Airliners Vs Cargo Airliners

Airplanes fascinate me no matter what type. But I will say that airliners fascinate me the most. There's just something about them that give me goosebumps. Cargo versions just don't seem to have the glamour appeal to me that their pax version twins have if that makes any sense.
