Thu Nov 27, 2008 6:18 am

so i am finally going on leave, and decided to visit my friends in the USA and spend new years in toronto. here is how i booked it:

phase 1: DXB - IAD - phx (United 977 connecting to 953)
phase 2: PHX - yyz on AC
phase 3 YYZ - FRA - DXB (LH & AC)

and realized that i am seated on AC new executive first on the 773. i looked at the pictures then wasn't sure of my perception to the product especially that its my first time to see such a product. have any one on this forum tried it? what are the thoughts on it?

I have tried J class on the 77W 2 times, as well as around 6 other times on 763 with the upgrade. Do I like it, its 100% hit or miss for me, you can sleep ALOT better on it, but me being 6'5'' I have also awaken to akward pain in my knees because i had to keep my legs bow leged to fit in the foot rest. If you are 6'3'' or smaller this will be a non issue. It would be a little small for those people who are overweight however. But for me that was not a problem, and you could be moderatly overweight and still fit in nicely.

Service on AC in J is great, the food is good, and I found AC staff to normally be very helpfull. I do not know how long your stop in YYZ but if you have time to spend in the MLL I would suggest doing so, now I have only spent time in the YVR and YUL international lounges (as well as the YVR and YYZ domestic lounges) but they are quite nice. AC now has a priority line for J class PAX for boarding which I am a fan of (when sitting in J).

The AVOD is hit or miss, I have had good luck with it recently, but have also had some bad luck with it. So far I think I am hitting 100% on the 77W for the AVOD to work.

Overall I think you will enjoy your experience, its not a First Class product, nor is it meant to be. AC designed Executive First and Executive Buisness for International and Domestic travel. They are supposed to sit in between the two, with Executive first being closer to a F class product and Executive Buisness for domestic travel being more of a Buisness class product.

Hope you enjoy your flight!

Cheers,
Chris

I love AC's Exe 1st suites. I flew them on 77W's from YYZ-LHR. It was quite comfy. I love Air Canada, the staff, the uniforms, and the aircrafts are fantastic. The only drawback is that catering on AC flights sucks. I have had much better food on other *alliance carriers but not great service like Air Canada. Overall, Air Canada flights were fabulous and I'll take them again for sure.

I agree with 744. AC exec F is great, one of my favourites.
