LAX T6 Food Establishments

Wed Jan 07, 2009 9:54 pm

Can anyone tell me what food establishments are located in T6 at LAX. Anyone have pics of T6 to share?

Thanks

T-6 is linked to T-7 & 8 by a passage way and to T-5 by a tunnel.

Between the 4 terminals you have plenty of choices per the LAWA website.

I know the voices in my head aren't real but sometimes their ideas are just awesome!!!

I'm a fan of Monet's. Open late (which is good for redeyes) and has a good menu. I'd recommend it. It's in the centerpoint area of T6 where the tunnel to T5 is - made it easy to get to from the Delta terminal. Has a seating area overlooking the CO gates and T7.

For an in-terminal burger, Ruby's is good; however, be prepared to shell out some dough for it. A burger, fries, and small drink set me back $18. For the best meal, though, and assuming you have enough connection time, is to head out to Encounters. For a full meal, you'll end up paying $40/pp, but it's much better than anything you'll get inside the terminal complex.
Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun.

...and if you really want the best burger possible, either walk (15 mins) or get a cab to the In-N-Out here.  Smile

Unless your lucky enough to be at BOS for Legal Seafood or SAN for sushi most airport restaurants are overpriced Cuisine de Hell. Over in terminal 5 is El Cholo Cantina, reportedly run by the same small Mexican restaurant chain that has very good restaurants in Orange County and Los Angeles. http://www.elcholo.com Of all the food on planet Earth, Mexican fare is arguably the most difficult to completely screw up in preparation. Buddies back in high school who couldn't write their own names legibly still got jobs at the local El Torito.

Caution: go easy on the Margaritas. One of our group (not myself) took Happy New Year into January 5th. Our Delta 1470 to Tampa was a Boeing 737-800 with an A/C pack inop. Delta chose to launch with a single pack and a FL 250 altitude limitation. As a result we were rocking and rolling through the middle of a frontal system over Texas and our friend swore off fruity girlie drinks that pack a wallop.

Oh how ever so true. Airport cuisine in general is something best to be avoided - at least with some of the chains (TGI Friday's, Chili's) you get some semblance of a decent meal. But too many times I've paid too much for something that wasn't good.
