My first post, so please be gentle....
I am currently a member of the QF Frequent Flyer programme. However, I moved to the United Kingdom over two years ago.
Whilst I am easily flying enough on Oneworld carriers (read: BA) to retain my membership status, I am failing one requirement of the QF Programme - that I fly 4 sectors on QF per annum.
QF have been understanding to date and allowed me to keep my status, but this will not last. I mean, in any given year, I cannot guarantee I'll return to SYD and do my 4 sectors.
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to transfer from QF's Frequent Flyer to BA's Executive Club and retain my status? It seems silly that if I join BA's Executive Club, I get dropped to the basic level and have to start all over again, after being a loyal Oneworld flyer since its inception.
The other problem is that I have amassed an amazing amount of points which I cannot readily use, e.g. for upgrades on BA. (But I am aware I can use them for flights). However I am not really fussed about those - I am not looking to transfer my points balance, only my status.
I emailed BA about this and got the most unbelievably patronising response - they gave me a pat answer on how their Executive Club works and referred me to their website.
Any advice would be appreciated.
