In-Flight Magazines - Which Is Your Favourite

Sat Feb 21, 2009 10:48 am

As someone who has been collecting In-flight Magazines for about 18 years and have over 2,300 from about 65 International and Domestic Airlines, I was wondering which is your Favourite Airlines Inflight Magazine:

My Favourite ones are the Airlines that no longer fly:

Ansett Australia - Panorama
Australian Airlines - The Australian Way (Now the title for Qantas' Inflight Magazine)

I would also like to add to my collection as I have very few American Carriers In-flight Magazines so please let me know how I would go about getting a copy:

American Carriers I already have are:

Northwest Airlines - World Traveler
United Airlines - Hemispheres
US AIRWAYS (Self titled)

I dont really have a favourite, though I collect them from the airlines I fly. One thing I DISLIKE big time if there is no fleet list in the back! I especially liked the one in the DL mag, they showed all the planes (incl NW) and engine types on them!
Always comparing your flown types list with mine

Though somewhat odd, I really liked Estonian's "In Time" magazine. It had great pictures, nice articles and very good inside information on Estonia (especially if you are a firt-timer to this country).

Silly question, but will Lufthansa's in-flight magazine be in English? I'm flying Lufthansa Cityline next week Munich to Naples. I love the route network in back and also the fleet breakdowns. I always thought Delta did a good job with their offering. Northwest as well.
I love dem planes....

Yes  Smile It's bilingual.

Enjoy your trip. MUC is a great airport. Maybe the best in Europe!

KL's Holland Herald, and SK's Scanorama are very good reads.

Holland Herlad always grabs me, its very well written and has good articles, I always get my dad to take one on his monthly trips to OSL.

Msafiri on KQ has to be the best for me. Good articles on East Africa and a lot of lovely destination reviews too.

It was a shame the US Airways decided to go with US Airways Magazine instead of Attache (the old magazine of US Airways East). Attache was a pretty good magazine, with several articles of interest to business travelers. Was typically a good read on a plane.

I really like LAN´s "in". Each issue is themed on a particular subject, and boosts very interesting articles.

I personally really like TG's Sawasdee or SQ's SilverKris magazines - had really interesting articles! I also especially liked TG's layout of the "welcome aboard" stuff.

US AIRWAYS MAGAZINE is good...but I liked Attache (the pre-merger one) a LOT better.

I used to enjoy reading AS magazines. Haven't flown them in 5 years now, not sure what they are like now. Northwest isn't bad either. I suspect most airlines have reasonably good material. I also sense that most of us have favorable opinions of magazines that we've read. In this context it would be interesting to discuss whether any magazine has been found to be conspicuously poor. I have also read the SWA magazine, and felt, on certain occasions, that they were a little too 'LUV'vy for me, if you know what I mean - somewhat informal and casual.

If your ranking the magazine on how much information the airline provides on the country they provide coverage for, then I think the best is VN Heritage Magazine. It provides wonderful information on the culture, food and people of Vietnam. Great magazine.
