Is there any FF programs that send you a real plastic card when you sign up online?

Cheers, Sam.

I know that Hawaiian Airlines does when you sign up for their HawaiianMiles program. It's a great program too!

NH, OZ, and BR send you plastic cards when you sign up for their frequent flyer program. NH sent me their card before I even had a chance to fly them.

I signed up with UA Mileage Plus online back in 2007, and they mailed me a card... Do they still do that now?

I signed up for NWA Worldperks last year, and I got a plastic card. I don't know if that's still the case with them being part of Delta now.

I signed up for Milage Plus longer ago than that, around 2005 or so, and I never got a card. I seem to recall that at the time they told me I would get a card after I booked a flight on united.com, and back then I always booked through Orbitz or similar sites.

I thought it's more common you get a card... AY, Emirates and Scandinavian, all sent me plastic after the first flight.

Some programs send out plastic cards only after you actually flew on one of their planes. NH does not seem to have this requirement. And their cards look nice, too.

Good luck.

BA send a Plastic Card with your name and membership number.

Pretty darn useless really for me- I rarely use it for anything! Especially since BA left NQY.

I received a paper card after I signed up for NW WorldPerks in 2003. I do have a plastic card for 2006 Silver Elite status. The one and only time I've made status.

Pretty sure DL sends you a plastic card after your first activity. I remember I did not get my first SkyMiles card until I actually took a flight on DL with my number attached.

  Thank you!

For some odd reason my brother has an Aeroflot Bonus card, we have no idea why, well he is in FB too, and they're in SkyTeam.

Thanks again

Midwest Airlines (in fact, they recently changed the design from when I first got it, from a picture of a businessman looking out the window with cookies on the table between the signature seats to the 717 painting)
Delta Air Lines (features the widget with blue background, go figure)

Not a frequent flyer program, but Amtrak also has a plastic card featuring their logo zoomed-in.

If anyone can confirm you can still get a plastic Northwest Worldperks card, lemme know!

On the other hand, I joined LANPASS three years ago, have flown extensively with them all over South America and across the Pacific to Australia, and haven´t yet received a card.

Apparenty, only Elite levels of LANPASS get a card. Terrible, in my opinion.

I've had a AR "card" printed out for a while, but had to cancel the flights, so had no activity. In 2008 I did 9 domestic legs with them though, and still no plastic card. thus, I assume it is the same with AR...

AC sent me one right away, too, but that's been a while ago (about 5-6 years)

Cheers

Continental and Virgin America made me print out the "card", but if you ask Continental for a replacement card, you can get an el-cheapo "card" that's basically the print-out card, only laminated and credit card size.

SA used to have a punch out paper card in the in flight magazine then they would send you a plastic card after your first flight. You can still join on board but I think they did away with the paper card. They still send you plastic, and plastic luggage tags too depending on your status.
After Monday and Tuesday even the calendar says WTF...
