First Class Once A Lifetime

Wed Mar 04, 2009 9:06 am

I am stuck with an idea. I was comparing air fares between London and New york. A fare at September cost roughly 2000 Pounds First class With British Airways. Is this worth for trying?
A dream of my is to fly First class once. A lifetime experience. Treated like a king.
Is this a bad idea or must I select another airline. What is your opinion?
Let's fly around the world!!!!

If I ever pay that amount or a full fare First Class ticket I will choose a destination where it is really worth it. I mean like flying at least 12hours etc. Why not try EK, QR or EY and go the other direction for example.  Smile

Many of the ME carriers are having a sale at the moment. Pay C, fly F and you can go much further for probably the same price. If you do go, make sure that your layover is long enough to enjoy the CCR at T5.

Zillox

I too actually share your "dream" of flying FIRST at least once in my lifetime. There are many who are fortunate to be able to do this regularly but people like can only dream.

Like a previous post, I would do something further than LHR JFK...if this is your "once" then make it worthwhile.

I would first research which carrier you want to fly with and then try to make a booking the longest possible.

BA would be EZE, SYD etc in terms of what I would do to achieve my "dream"...

If it wasnt BA, then maybe EK, SIN or Cathay on something of equal lenght.,,,,

Hope you achieve it mate!

My VS flight LHR-JFK cost me £1100 to travel this coming October so maybe check them out?

BA first class is getting old by now, you may want to try other airlines that has a new first class with single seats or semi cabin such as the new CX F/C, QR, EY, EK(A345 and 77L and the A380) also the new F/C SQ (77W and A380) Also you can go with AF but definitely not LH.
If you are going to pay that much, it should be paid for something worth it and new.

I second that, give SQ a try, excellent treatment in First.

If your planning flying on BA why not wait a few years until they recieve delivery of their A380's or you could fly EK with their amazing sky bar! SQ would also be amazing.

QR have a great product as well, why don't you check out the trip report forum and take a look at some first class reviews, that should give you a good idea of what airline you want to fly.

If you are going to fly BA FIRST, wait about a year. With the scheduled release of their new firstclass product later this month, it will be worth the while.

IMO I would try it... but in other hand there's £2000! I would get stuck between these two things...

If this is your first, don't waste it on such a short flight, I have had the pleasure of flying WBC, which in the US anymore is a blend of F and C FRA-DTW and AMS-MSP, and I wish I could have gone longer as it was a great experience. See about LAX, SFO, SEA, PHX, DFW, MIA, ORD or any other of the longer routes.
