I suggest flight attendant is very much an Americanism. I much prefer cabin crew.

I've also heard cabin attendant (a hybrid of the two).

I personally prefer Flight Crew to refer to all onboard airline staff (after all they are the "crew" working the "flight); but, I know a couple of pliots that get a bit upset (putting it mildly) when cabin staff and flight deck staff are referred to with the name.

We had a nice cabin crew, especially one flight attendant.

If its multiple I'll use crew, if its only one the F/A.

I don't really have a preference. I use them both, for example, when I tell people what I do for a living I say I am a Flight Attendant, however, when I make landing announcements, I usually say something to the effect of, On behalf of your Cabin Crew or Inflight Crew... They're not entirely interchangeable, in my mind.

I've gotten that on several flights to Australia and the UK - I think it's cute as well, I don't mind  Wink

I say cabin crew, but a lot of people I know say Air Hostesses/Stewards. There was story in the MEN, about a cabin attendant who was offended when called an Air Hostess.

Doesn't Steward mean helper or helping for someone, so I guess that term can be used.

The official terms used in my company are,
C/C : Cockpit Crew
C/A : Cabin Attendant

So, not F/A, but C/A instead  Wink

I say "Flight Attendant". I detest "stewardess/steward" with a passion. You find those in a restaurant.
