First Class On LH A346 And LX 343 Seating Question

Sun Mar 22, 2009 2:05 am

Two passengers flying in First Class on Lufthansa A346 to FRA and later on LX A343 to JNB.

We prefer the double seats (middle 2). I'm just not sure if row 1 or row 2 is better for each a/c.

In this picture, http://www.airliners.net/photo/Lufth...&sort=&photo_nr=&prev_id=&next_id= it seems as if row 1 on the LH A346 seems it has less leg room, that's why I am asking. Also, seatguru.com doesn't say anything about the LH A346- no color coding whatsoever.

Thanks.

The legroom is more than sufficient on both rows (i.e. enough to go fully flat, as you would expect), but I prefer Row 2 so that you're not staring at a wall and/or service counter for the duration of the flight. Being away from the front row gives a much more spacious feel.

In the LX 343, there is also a bar/service area at the front of the F class, however, because there are only 8 seats (compared to 12 with LH), the second row might be a little bit more noisy because of business class, although that actually shouldn't cause a huge problem.

Quoting LX64A332 (Reply 2):

I think you are slightly off. Both aircrafts only feature 8 seats in F. The LH F does have a small bar in front but ought not to be a big issue as it is only used by those pax/FA's.

OP: Your two concerns are: galley noise or C noise. I would tend to go with galley noise and light being no worse as they are usually quite good at both LX/LH to contain this as I would assume you are coming in from the US, i.e. both are overnight flights.

Either or, row 1 or row 2 will be no worse than the other but would perhaps recommend row 2 as they are further away from the galley and pax in C will also be going to sleep quite quickly.
