Need Help From Friends At B6, CO, And UA

Fri Apr 03, 2009 5:59 am

I am desperately trying to to to MCO tomorrow. My airline is oversold on every flight. Now looking to standby at other airlines.

It would be great if someone could give me an actual booking total for these flights on April 3, so I know my chances.

IAD-MCO
B6 345
UA 86
UA 746

EWR-MCO
B6 527
B6 529

I presume this is for non-rev travel, and that you don't have a confirmed ticket? If so, good luck: spring break is a ridiculous time to attempt pass travel to MCO, especially given how cheap the fares are to and from Florida. It isn't really clear where you are trying to start from, but you might need to examine other more creative routings, and consider flying into an airport other than MCO if that is feasible. If you are old enough to rent a car you can rent in one city in Florida and return it in another with no problem; just a thought.

Let this be a lesson to all new to standby travel: don't expect to get to Florida (especially MCO) standby during the spring break season; it is a losing and very frustrating proposition.

Good luck, GMan.

Agreed.

MCO is one of if not the hardest destination to stand by to.

Especially during the spring months.

I beat the odds. But I had to go to DAB.
And for the record, the reason I picked EWR and IAD was because I knew the flights were open CLT-EWR/IAD.
