How To Fly A DC-8?

Tue Apr 07, 2009 10:42 pm

I would like to fly in a DC-8 but I think all of the remaining ones are flying cargo now but I read something about ATI which have some passenger seats. I wrote to that airlines without any answer.
Could someone give me some more informations.
Thanks.

I think these airlines have DC-8 passenger operations:

National Airlines: USA (3)
Hewa Bora Airlines: Congo (2)
Expo Aviation: Sri Lanka (1)

I think that ATI has some combi operations, but I'm not sure on that.

Correct, but they are charter-only. I'm told that they run charters for USAF and AMC, but I don't know about that for sure.

Those are freighters, they used to be Murray, now they are called National.

Only way I see it possible is work for a cargo airline that lets employees fly on their planes or become a pilot.

That are cargo birds too, if they already still operate.
I think we should try to have Airevents or some other group lease this beauty... although probably the owners don't want common lowlife in their plush aircraft.

Yes  Smile
It was amazing and it should be great too if airevents or an other organization organise DC-8 flights. I'll be one of the first to book it!
