Anything To Do At MCO?

Fri Apr 24, 2009 12:51 am

I'll be at MCO on May 24th with a layover of over two hours, anything interesting around the Airport I should check out or do? Thanks.
Will you watch the Cleveland Browns and the Detroit Lions on Sunday? Only if coach Eric Mangini resigned after a loss.

There is a mall in the center terminal area. It is outside of the secure area though.

That's a mall lol?

Yeah, there's some stores there. I think if you can get your boarding passes early enough, you'll have time to check it out.

FL's HQ is there, but closed off due to security.

It looked fairly long, as least as long as the marketplace at PHL.

MCO is always an O&D airport for me and the most time I have spent there is an hour and a half, and that was at 4 am before a 5 am flight.

Haha, because I bet FL is so high on the list of potential airline targets.

Delta's Crown Room is fairly nice. There's also an Outback in Airside 4 that can take up an hour of your layover.

McCoy's in the Hyatt (in the terminal) is supposedly a pretty good restaurant, but a little pricey.

I ate there in 2005 or 2006. The prices seemed on par with other hotel restaurants ($18 - $25 for an entree), I don't remember the food being anything to write home about. Maybe it's improved in the last few years?

I recommend the Outback if you are looking for a decent meal while you are in airside.

Where I live, 4am to 5am is an hour, or were you delayed?  Smile
