Thoughts On A B717 Flight?

Mon Apr 27, 2009 10:02 pm

I have yet to fly on a B717 and I've been thinking about trying to book a flight. Where I live I have two choices, I can either drive down to MDW for FL or drive up to MKE for YX. Any thoughts on the two? I am kind of leaning towards YX, as I could try to get two birds with one stone, a B717 flight and a return flight on an E70, which I have never flown as well....plus I have never been to MKE, so maybe three birds with one stone.

While I don't think there is anything spectacular about MKE (just my opinion of course) I would pick YX over FL. YX is in harder times and the 717 will probably be gone from their fleet soon, so you'll probably be glad you picked them. Also the E series is quite comfortable, so you won't regret taking a trip on it.

Who knows, perhaps you'll love the 717 so much you'll make a second trip on FL.  Wink

I've never flown YX, but I suppose flying with them would be more unique, so I'd go that route. I have flown on an AirTran 717, and it was a lot of fun, so you can't go wrong with them either,

Go with YX. Like Desertflyer said, it looks like they're gonna be getting rid of their 717s pretty soon so jump on one while you can. You'll also get slightly better seat pitch and BOB meals on YX.
Will you watch the Cleveland Browns and the Detroit Lions on Sunday? Only if coach Eric Mangini resigned after a loss.

I'm flying YX 717 MCO-MKE in a little under two weeks, im looking forward to it, now the question is, is it worth the $35 to upgrade to Signature, and other than extra seat width and leg room is there any other benefit.

Nope, same service

Oh, more birds than that!

First off, there's Midwest and Republic if you haven't flown on the two carriers. Then there's the fact that it's a Midwest 717 since they're gone this fall (September?)
I convert Jet A and 100LL into noise.
