What Are The Chances Of MSP-LSE 12/09 A DC9?

Wed Jun 10, 2009 6:10 pm

My parents live near LaCrosse, WI, and I was looking into flights to visit them for around Christmas time. I noticed NWA's schedules are showing a DC9-30 operating one daily MSP-LSE flight. I've never been on a DC9 before, and knowing this could be my only opportunity to fly on one makes this flight rather appealing to me. But I know the schedule isn't really finalized this far out, so I'm wondering if I book this flight now what are the chances I'll actually end up on a DC9 come December?

NW has been flying MSP-LSE with a DC-9 for years so i would say that it would stay.

Thanks. I guess the main reason I had some doubt is that I know they weren't flying them there when I went last year -- I think they were using the CRJ-900 instead.

I live near LSE & I usually fly from there when I travel. NW has been using a DC-9 on at least one of the daily flights to MSP, except for maybe very short periods of time, for as long as I can remember. It usually operates the last or next to the last flight to LSE in the evening, and then it overnights there and operates the 1st or 2nd flight to MSP in the morning. Sometimes there is also a midday run with a DC-9.

I think they picked that route up from RC.

I love LaCrosse. I used to go there all the time in the late 90s and early 2000s. I used to stay at Harold's Motel on 61. I would drink soooooo much beer that I could hardly walk back to the Motel. Things haven't been the same since Heileman (Stroh 1996-99) left, but the new brewery operators sure make some good beer. I got drunk on LaCrosse Lager last night.

Well darn. I just checked again, and the DC-9 no longer shows up in the schedule. I hope that's just temporary. I'm gonna be pretty disappointed if they take the DC-9 off that route. I was looking forward to flying on it.
