I appreciate any help anyone can give. Here is the situation, the daughter of a close co-worker is going on a dream vacation to Indonesia. She is flying on 3 airlines, the likes of which we have never heard of. I've done some research on my own, thanks to wikipedia and google, here is the information I've found so far.
The first airine is Batavia Air. She is traveling on 10AUG from Jakarta-Pontianak on flt #201 a 06:00 departure. Batavia is the only airline not found on the EU blacklist. And their website seems to be well kept. They began flying in 2002. And fly a mix fleet of Boeing, and Airbii, with A330s on order.
The second airline, also the most concerning is Kalstar Air. 10AUG from Pontianak-Pangkalanbuun on flt #922, a 08:45 departure. Kalstar was just recently added to the EU black list in April of this year. They have a fleet of 4 aircraft, none of which are operated directly by kalstar. 3 ATR-42s, and a single Fokker 28.
The third and final airline is Riau Air, from Pangkalanbuun back to Jakarta on 12AUG. There is no flight number listed, the information might just not be available to me, but the flight is a 15:10 departure. Riau air has been on the EU black list for several years.
So this is the little information I was able to find. If anyone has flown these airlines or can point me in the direction to find out more information. It'd be greatly appreciated. The biggest concern of my co-worker is that her daughter not fly on the Fokker, which is only a 1 in 4 chance of happening. So if anyone knows the route that aircraft usually flies, it'd be very helpful.
