6'3'' In Club World On BA...

Thu Jul 23, 2009 1:08 am

Looking for advice from travelers who have used BA's (newish) Club World on the 747. Will a 6'3'' man be comfortable on an 10+ hr. flight? Will sleep be a possibility?

I'd think so depending upon your sleeping position and seat.

Which route or aircraft are you flying? Some seats give a little more room at the feet for stretching out than others.

I am 6'3" as well and I flew on a BA 772 back in 2003 and it was ok. I was able to get some sleep. Not too bad, but not too good as well. I was lucky that the seat next to me was empty.

Make sure you select a seat which either sticks out into the exit row or is a bulkhead seat, that way your feet can poke out a little more. Usually the footrests fold down from the seat in front, but with lack of seat in front the footstool comes up out of the floor and goes flat with nothing to stop your feet hanging off the end.

By my judgements and recollection the following 747 seats should fall into this category
12J
13B/D/G
14A/E/F/K
17B/D/G/J
20A/E/F/K
60B/J
62A/K
63B/J
64A/K

Of these anything on the upper deck is great, I always go for 62J/K or 64J/K with my wife, but as these are well known as better seats you may find they've already been snaffled by BA Golds/Silvers or those with pre-allocation rights. If you are able to pre-assign then go for this ASAP!
