SEA To Egypt

Sun Aug 16, 2009 5:33 am

So my friend needs to get to Cario, Egypt on Oct 21 and she's staying till the 4th. Currently she's got Delta for less than a $1000 but are there any options. I have no idea about routes to Egypt. Does EK work? or United? American?

Cheapest I found was on DL: SEA-JFK-CAI-JFK-SEA for pretty much $970. Only one connection, that is not too bad for that in my opinion.

That would be a weird trip. Getting from SEA somewhere in the US where EK is flying from, then to DXB and then back to CAI? That would be a very long trip...

United

Cheapest on United here is $1250.

I found a Lufthansa flight, which is just slightly more expensive than the Delta one. And you don't need to connect through JFK. It goes SEA-FRA-CAI-FRA-SEA.

Usually it is an A333. I guess they are flying Economy class. The opinions vary from horrible to very good. I like the service of LH, it is professional, standard food, free alcoholic drinks, PTV (if the 333).

If you play around with the dates a little bit you may find something cheaper.

10/22/09-11/4/09 (or 11/4/09, same price) with LH through FRA $958

Lufthansa ... SEA-FRA-CAI-FRA-SEA.

Looks like a looong layover at FRA on the outbound leg departing 21-OCT ... ?
Play with dates.
On 20-OCT you get a connection via FRA and MUC getting you (your friend) faster to CAI.
Connection at FRA on the return is almost perfect at 3.5 h.

Have a look into KL via AMS (NW SEA to AMS and MS AMS to CAI, but also this one has 8 hours to kill to make the connection outbound).

20.OCT:
AF SEA CDG 1350h 0835h+1 A332
AF CDG CAI 1340h 1805h B772

But no good connections on the return could be found on 04-NOV, but on KL via AMS on 05-NOV.
Have a look and decide for yourself.
