UA Short Haul First Class Question

Thu Sep 17, 2009 3:38 pm

Next week, I'll be flying UA DEN-GEG-DEN, in F.

United's web site says there will be "breakfast" between DEN and GEG, and "lunch" between GEG and DEN.

Does anyone know how substantial breakfast and lunch are on short haul United flights? Will the breakfast consist of just bagels / muffins, and will lunch be just a sandwich, or will the food be more substantial?

For those of you who are wondering, no, I did not pay the full F class fare. United accidentally filed a fare of $144 round trip MSP-GEG, in F. They pulled the fare after 18 hours, but I was able to book it (thanks to Flyer Talk) before the fare went away.

I'm guessing cold meals - continental breakfast and a chilled salad. That's a pretty short flight, even if it's on mainline metal.

Another person doing the GEG run  Smile I'll be doing it in October. Let me know what they serve, my evening DEN-GEG says "Dinner" and somehow I don't imagine they'll be serving a hot meal.

Though on Sunday I'm doing MSP-ORD-GEG-ORD-MSP...

FYI, breakfast on DEN-GEG on Saturday morning was a choice between a cheese omelet or a fruit plate/yogurt, both served with a croissant.

Lunch on GEG-DEN was a warm turkey and cheese sandwich, or a cold salmon salad (which was really good). A warm chocolate chip cookie was also served with lunch.

Thank you for the information. Now I know I won't be going hungry. Hopefully, it will be clear enough for me to see the Tetons and Yellowstone  Smile
