Holiday Hours For Airline Clubs?

Sun Oct 04, 2009 4:05 pm

My next scheduled trip is on Thanksgiving Day and I recently received a day pass for Delta's Sky Club that I'm planning on using on this trip. My flight out of ATL is in the evening (7:05 PM departure) so I would be spending some time in a Sky Club on the concourse my flight will depart from (This far in advance it is not known where my flight will depart from.). Which leads me to my question.

Do airline clubs reduce hours or not open all of their locations at an airport on holidays due to lower passenger loads on those days?

Not in my experience. I've travelled on Christmas Day and New Years Eve / Day and airline clubs have been operating on very much a "business as usual" basis.

Delta normally doesn't have all their clubs open on holidays. Expect A-Centerpoint and one of the E Clubs to be closed minimally; there will most likely be one club open until 10 p.m. (regular closing time) and quite possibly more.

That's what I figured would be the case. It never hurts to double check, as the only other time I've flown on Thanksgiving Day, spending time in the Crown Room Club (as it was then called) was not on my docket (I normally don't do the CRC/Sky Club day pass thing because of the cost. The one I have is a free pass my bank gave me for upgrading my debit card to the SkyMiles one they now offer.).

Normally, a week or two before the holiday, Delta will issue a statement announcing the changed hours - in years past, it's been part of a PR that announces free CRC access for troops with military orders, and they bury the days that the lounges have reduced operation in there as well.
