US Airways Connection: PHL Or DCA?

Wed Oct 28, 2009 9:53 pm

Hi all,

I want to fly BOS <-> DAY and I have the option to connect either via PHL or DCA (on US). Any preferences? I've connected through PHL in the past (I don't mind the airport / terminals, I do mind the weather that causes havoc at the airport though). I'm considering DCA given that US has the frequent BOS <-> DCA shuttle which will give me a few more options if I miss a connection. Do you think it would be an improvement over PHL?

Thanks,

Tony

Me personally.. I've been to PHL and didn't like it so I'd have to give DCA a chance. Have you been through both airports? If not then I'd go with the one you haven't tried yet. It has been many years since I've been to PHL so maybe it has improved.

DCA - much nicer airport than the dump than PHL and airport is set up a bit easier than PHL.

While the USX gate at DCA is pretty bad, it's still better than PHL.

Yes, and it is literally one gate. PHL has a whole express concourse. Complete with a bus ride over there from any mainline flight.

Pick the lesser of two evils.

DCA is a much nicer airport. DCA is the nicest airport in the country IMO. Connecting will be very easy, food options are good. Great views of the airport. Also on your flight into DCA sit on the left side of the plane incase you get one of the best approaches in the world the runway 19 Visual approach and sit on the right side for departure. DCA will be a better choice IMO.

PHL-BOS is hourly as well. That said, I prefer DCA.
