Travel Advice: MAD-FRA On LAN

Mon Nov 16, 2009 10:00 am

Hi all,

I am about to book a flight on LAN. Its about the flight from MAD to FRA. It arrives in FRA at 17:55. This is only 1 hour and 45 minutes before the return flight to MAD.

Do you think I will make it to the return flight? If I can check in the return flight in advance, and don't have to leave the gate I will. But is this possible?

Thanks in advance,

Tim,

Are you travelling MAD-FRA-MAD in one day?
It is possible if the flight is ontime! You will arrive and depart FRA T2 ! Just a 5 minute walk from your gate to the Check-In Counter!
You could also Check-In Online in Advance (I think this is possible with LA) and just go through Security again and go directly to your gate again! No problem then!
They offer quite a decent service (the best from FRA-MAD amongst all others i.e. IB/LH)

Enjoy your trip!

Thanks for your advice. I have decided not to book this flight. If this goes wrong I will be stranded at FRA late at December 31th. I will just stay in Madrid, where I have a hotel room.

I've done the flight, MAD-FRA. I had a non-rev continuing to AMS.
But, if you want to do it another day (not Dec 31st), you can maybe take the LA flight MAD-FRA, and back to the Netherlands by ICE train. You have time to catch up with the last departure to Amsterdam, fares can be found at good prices if you are booking well in advance.
And indeed, LA's catering is very nice for Y-class: http://www.airliners.net/aviation-forums/trip_reports/read.main/135612 for the tripreport.

Hi Eric,

Thanks for your advice. I was looking for ICE tickets already. I think I will try this out another time. For now I have already booked my AMS-MAD-AMS flight. It will be a shame to travel the ICE having a KE boarding pass in my bag  Silly

Nice! It's back to A330 now... but these KE flights are quite expensive aren't they?

Not really, the prices are as competitive as those of KL, IB or even U2!

But if you mean J or F, yes, it is a totally rip off.
