Will DL Bump Me Up To The Next Level?

Sat Dec 05, 2009 7:10 pm

I know that I have seen this on here before and was not sure if maybe some policies have changed recently with the merger and the overall way things are in the industry.
I currently am a Gold Medallion. I traveled 29,000 miles in 2006, 27,000 in 2007, 65,000 miles traveled in 2008 and now 46,000 in 2009. At the end of the year, I will be at 48,200 approximately. What are the chances that Delta will keep me at a Gold for 2010 if I am this close for the year..ending less than 2000 miles short? Any insights from the DL folks? And, no a mileage run is not an option for this........Cheers

Call them and ask. I know it's happened for several of my co-workers and for me on one airline (though I was closer than you are) If not they have the new roll over so you will be that much closer to silver next year.
Enough about flying lets talk about me!

If you're at 48,200 miles, I'd put the odds at .0000000001%. In the past, it was a 500 mile threshold for Silver, 1000 for Gold, 1500 for Plat.

Given that this year there is rollover, I'd expect to fall back to Silver next year. The good news is that you'd have a pretty good chance of making Platinum next year.
