British Airways Best Club World Seats?

Fri Jan 08, 2010 5:54 am

Hello,

I was just wandering, I have purchased 3 tickets for my wife, son and myself on British Airways Club World. It is on a 747 New Club World and I would like to know the best seats. We are flying on BA0010 from Sydney in July. Which seats are the best so my son (whom is 9) can sit next to my wife and still see me.

Thanks in advance for the help

I flew on a BA 777 last summer, and I highly recommend choosing outside seats in a row at the rear of a section or just for of an exit, so whoever is sitting in the window seat will not have to step over someone else to get out.

Looking at Seatguru, it looks like rows 62 and 64 for the upper deck and row 20 (lower, but it's over the wing) on the 52J configuration and 62 & 64 (UD) along with 14 and 20 for the 70J configuration. Row 62 may not work since it is an exit, but I don't know exactly what seats are considered to be in the exit row with this config.

As far as easiest conversation goes, seats in the middle section of the lower deck would work well, but I'd bet that most 9 year olds would prefer a window seat. For the outer sections, I suggest getting a window (rear facing) and aisle (fore) in one row, and the aisle of the row behind. This should allow relatively easy conversation with both of you, assuming your son is in the window seat, the downside being that he would have to step over whomever (you from what I gather) is sitting in the aft row aisle seat.

Here is the Seatguru.

Whenever I've flown in Club, I've always tried to get seats on the upper deck. There's more space up there which makes it feel more exclusive.

With the new Seat Reservation fee, I don't think the Upper Deck is selectable. I believe they are pre-allocated to Full Fare and Gold/ Platinum members

The upper deck is much, much nicer. The best seats are those where the side stowage by the window is available.

I prefer the seats up front away from the galley and stairs as its quieter.

Thanks Guys!

I have been able to reserve 17 EFG online! I looked at the upper deck but my wife (you know how women are, I am not been sexist) said she did not want to walk up and down the stairs and wanted to watch my son the whole flight with him right next to her! Thanks for all the help!
