UA-IAD To NRT With A 727-200!

Sun Feb 14, 2010 12:59 am

Travelling to NRT (SAT-IAH-NRT) in March on CO and I was looking at alternative flights on CO's PDA application. This one caught my eye: CO 6033, IAD to NRT, operated by UA and listed as a 727-200! Would be quite a stretch to make it non-stop. CO's website does list the correct A/C, a 747-400.

Um, I'm pretty sure that's a mistake. Did it happen to read "772?" If so, it's a 777-200 which is a plausible option.

If it was a 727, just imagine how many a.netters (most of whom complain about narrowbodies flying across the Atlantic) would be tripping over each other to get seats on that flight!
The plural of Airbus is Airbuses. Airbii is not a word, and doesn't even make sense.
There is no 787-800, nor 787-900 or 747-800. It's 787-8, 787-9, and 747-8.
A321neoLR is also unnecessary. It's simply A321LR.

It is listed as a 727-200, not a 772. Again this is the PDA (Iphone) app, not the CO website.
