Where Is The Next WN City?

Thu Feb 18, 2010 11:10 pm

Let's start the annual guesses as to which airport or airports will win the WN sweepstakes. I do not believe that WN will sit still for too much longer. I will be the first to venture a guess and incur the disdain of my fellow A Netters. I say FAT.

Hey this is no time for another new city -- they've got lots of Denver-growing to do now!

Should gate space (ATL) or slots (DCA) become available, I think I know exactly which two airports would see WN service next. But, since those two airports are basically out of the question for now, I'd have to guess that we'll see a medium size airport next - ROC, SYR, RIC, GSO, CLT, MEM, TYS, SRQ, GRR, DSM, ICT, or COS seem most likely. Maybe a return to IAH or a small operation from MIA. FAT seems like a bit of a stretch because their local economy is really in the tank right now, but I'm sure someday they will have WN.

And I will be their first employee in FAT  -

I'm unsure of how true this is but, I believe WN and CO struck up a deal that CO would stay out of HOU, and WN out of IAH.

I think they may do SYR or ICT next
