I'd suggest going to Sweden over the Oresund bridge. Nothing against Copenhagen, you're not going to have more than an hour and a half in the city once you get there which is no time to really see anything, so you could instead take the train directly from the airport and have a nice view of the bridge and sea below.

You can either go to the city (which is expensive, as is the whole of Scandinavia), head over the Øresund bridge or you could maybe go to a place called the Flyvergrillen which is near the 22R threshold. Good food, serves beer and there's benches and things to sit on and just watch the movements for a few hours. I've always had somebody who has driven me there though so I don't know how easy it is to get to via public transport, or it's a half-hour walk. It might be pretty cold this time of year though (saying that, you're coming from Latvia and that's hardly St. Tropez...  )

Basically, to get to it, go past the Domestic (T1) terminal toward Gate Gourmet and when you get there, turn left onto Amager Landevej. Go straight down there and it's there. You can get the Number 73 bus there, if you get on the one heading towards Dragør and get off just as it turns right into Tømmerupvej. Not sure on the cost though.

The cheapest ticket is for 2 zones which is 23 kr and is valid for 1 hour so he would need two tickets. It's a rather boring place if it rains, but if the weather is good it's definitively worth a trip.

I've never been when it's cold, only between May-September/October so It's always been nice when I've been. I have friends who live near CPH so I don't need an excuse to go to the Flyvergrillen, only when they're free.   He also works in the ground tower and I would also recommend that as a good spotting place but that's a little unfair

I miss it up there actually - they closed it off to visitors a few years back. Still, a few times is better than non.

You could hangout at the Lego store at the airport
Seriously though CPH is a very cool little airport but not a ton to do.

As has been suggested, you couldtake the train over the bridge to Malmo in Sweden. If I recall, trains run every 20 mins and take about 30 mins. Return ticket is DKR160 - about £12.
