I too have flown DL
's 763ER on TATL segments, and while not as nice as the 764, they are comfortable and the service is good. No AVOD but blue leather seats, food I find that is not terrible, free beer and wine (in a bottle not a carton) and pleasant crew. No, you won't be wooed and wow'd over but the Y product is fine.
Avoid row 15....no window. Rows 16-19 have misaligned windows. Exit rows 20 and 21 are great with extra legroom but a lot of aisle traffic during flight with lav visits. I usually pick rows 22-25 for good view of monitor/screen for movie watching, quick beverage and meal service, short walk to lav and stable ride over the wing.
Lunch and dinner service will offer two choices - usually chicken or pasta - and a light snack before landing in both directions. The meal includes cheese and crackers, salad, entree and a dessert. Breakfast was a warm bagel w/cream cheese and yogurt, and on westbound flights the snack before landing will be full beverage service and a sandwich or wrap and cookie. Enough to sustain you until a home cooked meal or a restaurant at your destination. In most cases unless turbulence interrupts the plan, at least 4 beverage runs.
I don't expect (and pay for) extravagant menu plans, china and crystal stemware, flowing wine and cocktails, and a seat recline that provides an eye level view of my crotch.
I do like the consistent and friendly service, at a fair price on a clean and well-maintained airplane.
I don't work for DL
, but consider their service always as my first choice. I vote with my wallet and those who deliver that consistent and friendly service get my business. A good fare and a free drink coupon doesn't hurt either.........
Enjoy your ride on this good airline.
watch what you want. you may get it.
