A New United (w CO) Means For 1k & GS?

Fri Apr 30, 2010 5:47 am

I once read (recently) there are about 18,000 GS United flyers in the MP database. Once you add One Pass superstars to that what will that mean to the big spenders? From what I understand One Pass has NO level for the uber elite whose level is determined by how much someone spends ($$$) on the airline (smart business) That would be FF First/Business First/ Business internationally. I roughly calculate I spend about $180,00 and $250,000 on United a year (depending on how heavy a travel year) and in turn I feel like I never ever have to worry about how UA will take care of me. I assume there must be OnePass equals, but the requiements to reach these milestones are much lower and since there is no First Class - there is no place to go if you already hold a FF businessfirst ticket. No upgrades, no special lounges. One of the nice things about CO is that ( aside from current stoneage seats) Its always a consistant great customer experience - except for those 3 Ambien seats.
How do they get those sky warriors to reconcile?

I am a UA Global Services Member and according to inside information from other GS folks, UA will make sure GSs keep all of their benefits and more may come from this merger. The new rumored benefits include escorts at all airports and guarantee free FC upgrades on all flights regardless of destination. I really hope this merger goes through!!!

Continental is rolling out Presidential Platinum this year for those that spend $30k+ on Continental/yr.

My guess is they will become part of Global Services once the dust settles.

Do you spend that amount or the company you work for??
If it is you, your yearly income surely out of reach for most of us!!  Wow!

I WISH!!!!
My yearly salary isn't bad. I have a big "global" job however. This year so far I hit 1K+. Once to Vietnam, about 8 times to London, 4 to Geneva and one Venice (nice one) plus a few one day trips. I think I did p.s. To SFO. Also 2 times to Frankfurt. I almost always fly UA.
For the up coming quarter I have Rio, Sydney, Bombay, more London and Frankfurt, one trip to Warsaw and a handful of short domestics. I'm always tired and the company should give me 100% freedom of who I fly. And all my fares are either refundable business or first!!! Which is about $8,000 to Singapore depending when I book. But no, I'm not a millionaire!!!
