TAM: JFK/GIG, It Ain't Easy To Buy!

Wed May 19, 2010 3:54 am

Today I spoke with United's Global Services desk to get a First Class ticket on JJ8079, the famous non-stop from JFK to GIG. I was flexable on the return but after a long talk about a simple round trip, I wound up on a 6am flight from Rio to Sao Paulo, no info available on the layover time, then GRU to JFK.
It's obviously a day flight. I can't get a GIG to JFK redeye. But it "seems" there maybe "another" flight to JFK from GRU in the evening. Isn't the "non-stop" daily now?
I called the Continental Elite desk too. They too can't seem to sort this out - although most days the flight in June is packed in all 3 classes! So it must be a hot route that others failed at!

I have asked this before: on an A330, TAM's First Class is a real lie-flat and not business seat in a cabin on it's own. The ticket is not cheap! Right Lipe!
The world is missing love, let's use our flights to spread it!

I'll call you and give you the number of the JJ office in New York City. They are very helpfull always and that's the only way to find out a seat on JFK-GIG or GIG-JFK on F or C, which are very DISPUTED.
Today's flight to GIG for example come with a heavy composition.... Petrobras, Vale, BNDES, Government of Brazil....

TAM plans to make it daily remains a plan, but not for short term.

Right, it's a flat bed with more than 2,00 metters! in a 1-2-1 configuration with a good privacy. I will fly First Class GIG-JFK next sunday to return to New York ( i will be in Houston during next week and will fly IAH-GIG on CO service now with JJ code-share) and will try to make a Trip report. Thanks to TAM New York's office
New York + Rio de Janeiro = One of the best combinations !
