Award Ticket Dilemma

Looking for some advice on booking business class award tickets for late August this year.

Here are my two options:

AA Advantage - 200,000 miles/ticket
ATL-MIA (AA First)
MIA-LHR (AA Business)
LHR-ORD (AA Business)
ORD-ATL (AA First)

or

CO OnePass - 105,000 miles/ticket
ATL-EWR (Continental Economy)
EWR-LHR (Virgin Atlantic Business)
LGW-CLT (US Airways Business)
CLT-ATL (US Airways First)

Now immediately Continental looks better given the mileage required.
BUT let's face it, US Envoy (Business) is far inferior than AA Business, but is the AA Business worth the extra miles?

Go with AA. I've always said avoid EWR at all costs, and even if it's gonna cost 95,000 more miles, you'll avoid Newark and you'll have a much better experience on AA anyway. Long story short: I think it's worth it.

Go with the Star awards. US Airways' business class is meh, but at least it's on an A330-300, so it's not as dire as the 767s. The AA business class product isn't the greatest that's out there, and definitely not worth a 95k mile premium. Not to mention, you'll have Virgin business on EWR-LHR, and VS business blows the US and AA offerings out of the water.

Save the 200k AA miles and use them some other way, such as an International F awards - 200k for AA J across the Atlantic is not worth it.

I agree with DeltAirlines. Don't burn those extra 95K miles. That is a lot of miles to apply to another trip of some sort.
That said, I woud make sure you have at least 2 or more hours for your connection between CO and VS and although not thought of or rated very highly, the US Envoy product is not a cattle car either. The food and crew service can be quite good, and even without the latest business class hard product the US A330 is a nice ride. The VS service will be excellent so I personally would not want to pass up the opportunity to fly with them. In fairness, the AA service can be excellent (or hit and miss mediocre!) but that 200K premium award level ticket is not worth it. For 200K to London I want pampering by SQ on an A380.

I'd go with the Continental award. While you might think US is shabby, as an AA EXP I don't think AA is much better.

Any disappointment or negatives with US should be compensated by the bonus of flying VS.

Well unfortunately need 2 award tickets and only one available on Continental for the dates, so looks like it's going to be American.
