Poll: BOS - Best And Worst Terminals

Thu Jul 22, 2010 2:01 am

Hello everyone!

Of the 5 terminals at Boston Logan International Airport, A, B1, B2, C, and E, I am curious as to which terminal people think is the best or worst. You can also talk about specific sections of terminals (e.g, United vs. JetBlue section of Terminal C), compare and contrast terminals, etc.

Thanks,
Wilson

Best- A

Worst- B (both sides) but I think B2 (AA, NK, VX side) is worse. is small and crowded. Especially the AA gate area, when their are delayed flights it gets packed.

Pretty much sums it up. The new-ish B part (where the USAir Shuttle goes from) is rather nice - nicer than the UA and FL piers in C.

Terminal C. It is classic architecture, and it doesn't look like the generic structures that all hoer world airports seem to ne following.

That said, I really miss the old Eastern Terminal!

I have only used E and B but both were pretty bad IMO. B is small and old but has some pretty good views of the runways.
E is not terrible but I was expecting a lot more then it is for BOS international terminal. It seems a bit outdated and just boring. I was also expecting it to be a bit busier but I was there from 9pm-1am guess I am just used to MIA and all the international red eyes.

Best- A

One improvement that I'd like to see happen to Terminal A sometime is either a shuttle bus or train that takes you between the main bldg and the satellite bldg. It's such a long walk...

Of the 5 terminals, B2 is the only one I've never been in. I also don't think I've ever flown American before...

Which gates are those? Terminal C isn't too bad. I remember the AC section of B1 is a joke. Only 3 gates, and overall very boring.

Absolutely. Do you think the UA or B6 side is better?

It's 750 feet or so - it's a 3-4 minute walk. For the cost that it would take to put a tram in there to just go back and forth, it's not necessary at all, especially with the moving walkways being down there. All told, it's about 2000 feet of walking from the entrance of Terminal A to the farthest gate in the satellite - it's far for Boston, but compared to several other major cities' airports, it's average.

B15-B21. Primarily used by the Shuttle, though there are some mainline departures that go out of those gates as well.

Those gates actually work quite well for Air Canada - gives them their own quiet corner of the airport where they can set up their own operation, and they really don't need anything crazy over there. These gates used to be used by the Delta Shuttle before Terminal A reopened and they were the perfect Shuttle type gates - show up to the airport, clear security, get on the plane in one fell swoop.

I have flown into E, out of A, and both in C.

I prefer C for: More concession choices before security.
Hate C for: Too long of wait for security ( due to B6 popularity) when I am flying out on Cape Air! Love long wait to fly out with 5 other pax lol.   Also, seems a bit cramped for the amount of pax using it.

I like A due to newness, amenities, and was where my AS flight got me out of BOS lol. Oh, and one hot server at rest/bar above escalators out to satellite.

Flew into E on WN, so lack of anything in that area of termnal make it last choice.

They may work very well for Air Canada, but as a passenger you are stuck in that one little room unable to access the rest of the air side terminal with only a coffee stand for company. Not even a newspaper stand. I have only used it twice, each time for connecting back to LHR. First time I assumed it would be like any international flight and turned up 2 1/5 hours early. Wow, it was a good thing I had a couple of books with me. Second time was a couple of years later and you guessed it .....I did the same thing again getting there very early. I sure was kicking myself as soon as I walked through security and saw the room again!!!

Time permitting and once one clears security; one can walk from the WN gates over to the concessions over at the other end of E, where the interantional flights are. I did that that last time I was at BOS while waiting for a WN flight to BWI.

But the B6/9K side also seems nicer than the UA side.

maddog888 has it exactly right.

I didn't know the WN and international sides of Terminal E are connected post-security.
