Longest N/S Route Per Aircraft Type (A Vs B)

Mon Jul 26, 2010 2:48 pm

What are for the moment the longest NONSTOP commercial flights worldwide by aircraft type. So no special delivery flights, but flights where you and I can by tickets for (assuming we have enough money for full business class flights   )?

I have added some guesses, please share your ideas.
All variants are considered as 1 type, e.g. 333 includes original 333 as well as HGW, 772 included 777-200LR, 777-200ER, etc...

AIRBUS

318: JFK-LCY (BA)
319:
320:
321: LHR-THR (BD), or some American East Coast - West Coast?
332: CDG-KIX
333:
342:
343:
345: SIN-EWR (SQ)
346:
388: DXB-YYZ (EK)

BOEING

733
734
735
736
737
738
739
744
752: EWR-ATH (CO)
753
762
763
764
772: DEL-ORD
773

Thanks for completing this list.

Very interesting topic......

LH(operated by Privatair) fly a B737-800 as follows:

LH627 tue/thu/sat DMM 00H50 / FRA 06h15 : Duration 6hrs 15 mins

This must be one of the longest B737-800 flights I guess?

73G: PTY-MVD (CM)
738: PTY-EZE (CM) - I'm excluding the BBJ operated Privatair flights here.

I believe that EWR-TXL is CO's longest 757 route, though Delta flies CVG-AMS with their 757s, which are PW powered. There was also the one off DL 757 flight on NRT-SEA.

Unfortunately DL no longer flies CVG-AMS with the 757. One of the longer ones still flying is DKR-JFK. This flight routinely takes between 8:30 - 9:00 of flight time. There may be longer as I do not claim to be the expert on this.

LH (PrivatAir) - FRA-PNQ is way up there as well as far as longest non-stop route flown with 737-800. This one used to be all business service but was changed to mix class few months ago. Great circle mapper puts it at 4160 miles.

ANA Business Jet [Now does offer some Y seats] operates 737-700 between BOM-NRT [sometimes it makes a technical halt at NGO] distances are 3497 Nm for BOM-NGO

Also can anyone confirm which is the longer route is it SIN-EWR or EWR-SIN

Though HKG-MEX is not an scheduled flight, it is the longest with a distance of 7650 nm. The flight, an AM 77E was used to repatriate stranded Mexicans in China during the AHN1 outbreak last year and was operated with 165 pax nonstop. If this flights counts, the lists is as follows:

AMS-IAH is a BBJ, not a 737 technically, and its not a BBJ2 which has a 738 fuselage, its a BBJ with a 73G fuselage length.

the longest non stop flight on a A343 today is I believe CIs LHR-TPE which has a 15hr flight time(it does not route GC over central China but goes over southern China and then south of the Himalayas)

The BBJ1 (and BBJ-C), BBJ2 and BBJ3 are all Boeing 737's (700/800/900ER) since they are included in the 737 certificate, they are technically just ordinary 737's though slightly modified for business use.

But you are correct, AMS-IAH is operated by a BBJ1 (737-700) and not a BBJ2 (737-800).

I don't think the AMS-IAH should be counted. As mentioned before, it's a BBJ which has added fuel capacity over the "regular" 737-700.

333: DOH-MNL (QR) 3490nm

This is definitely not the longest 333 flight - ATL-FCO, DTW-FCO, and JFK-ATH are all longer off the top of my head. ATL-FCO on DL is the longest of those at 4376nm, but I suspect that is not the longest either.

That is also a A319LR, QR's two A319s are both of the LR version. The quest for the longest "regular A319" flight hasn't been answered yet.

AI DEL - SIN : 2241 nm

As for B739, I know 9W operates one between BOM and DEL which is 613 nm, and it is a non ER version.

I think you are confusing the shortest and longest threads. 613nm is awfully short and I think 739s operate much longer distance than that all over the world. May be you should move this post to the other thread.

Never mind, I missed the non ER part.

There was also the one off DL 757 flight on NRT-SEA.

Which, IIRC, ended up getting cancelled...

2241 nautical miles is equal to 2584 miles (also known as "statute miles"). One nautical mile is approximately 1.151 miles.

According to Delta.com, DL635 is CVG-SFO-NRT-PEK. The SFO-NRT leg is 5109 miles, which means it can't be that long in nautical miles. SFO-NRT is 4453 nm. JFK-CAI and JFK-AMM operated by DL, are both longer than SFO-NRT, JFK-AMM being 4986 nm. Not sure if that's the longest 767-300 route or not.
