I'm planning a trip to the USA next June - my first trip there in ten years. I've been keeping an eye on prices as the booking systems gradually opened for reservations - but for travel next June the prices seem atronomical compared to May.
I'd like to fly to the east coast. Have a stop-over and then fly to somewhere like Seattle. Doing the same on the way back but I would like to catch a day-time flight back to London.
American Airlines are charging over £800 return just to New York whilst Virgin are charging about £450. The flight websites - like ebookers and expedia only list a Continental 757 from EWR as a day time return flight.
Ideally I would like to fly with the same carrier for the entire journey - just in case there are delays/cancellations then I should be covered for my next flight so I was looking at an American carrier.
Is there a reason why they are so expensive and is there a time limit on when people like Expedia book all flights (it looks like some flights have not been loaded into their systems)
