Upgrade Chances ATL To SFO As A DL Gold?

Sat Aug 14, 2010 1:05 pm

Would love an opinion on this one. Here are the facts.
I am a DL gold. I bought a T fare to go from BDL to SFO via ATL. Traveling Thurs Oct 21 in the afternoon with a 5 pm connection to SFO. Coming home Sun night on the redeye. So..... What are my chances at dinner and drinks!

It's way too far in advanced to tell. It won't be until around October 19th that anyone could get an idea.

Depends on bookings in advanced whether they do or not. That idea (and there are no guarantees) comes about 7 days out from departure.

Slim to none, and slim just walked out the door. ATL-SFO is notoriously tough for upgrades, and 5 p.m. is peak business traveler time. The odds of a Diamond sitting in coach is higher than a Gold on a T fare clearing on that route/time. It also doesn't help him that Diamonds and Platinums on award tickets now get priority over Golds on all (non-full Y) paid fares.
