DL IFE And WiFi

Sat Sep 18, 2010 6:26 pm

I'm thinking of making a mileage run on DL to the West Coast here pretty soon. In evaluating my options, I'm also looking at IFE and WiFi availability in addition to miles and aircraft type. I've looked at both DL's website and Wikipedia. Wikipedia is pretty clear that the vast majority of the fleet has WiFi, but the IFE portion is less clear. Specifically, I'm wondering what types of aircraft have the seatback satellite TV service and/or AVOD.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks,
bcoz

For AVOD, look for one of DL's domestic non-ER 763s (configured 24F/238Y), a 752 with 7 rows of F, or a 738 that shows up in the schedules as "Boeing 737-800 (winglets)" or "73H". Also, if you are traveling from JFK, you can also look for a 752 with 4 rows of BusinessElite.

WiFi should be in all your mainline aircraft. There are just a few that do not have it, now.

I've been on several DL 320s that have WI-FI on board.
