DL A332 Window Seats

Thu Oct 07, 2010 12:16 am

I have a couple upcoming trips on Delta A330-200s (PDX-AMS both times).

Obviously I want a window seat, but I don't want to be mid wing with no view for 10hrs

Does anyone know roughly what rows have limited visibility on this equipment due to being over the wing?

Seatguru doesn't help here.

I am currently booked in
12A & 14J - I imagine these are far enough forward.

21A - Could this be a problem?

Thanks,

Seatguru is the absolute worst. Seatexpert is WAYYYY better.

You should be okay in row 12. Row 14 might be toward mid-wing though. Row 21 would be good, toward the trailing edge. Probably a good view of the flaps.

Not to self-plug, but if it's anything to go by this is from a recent trip of mine DTW-AMS on an A332. I sat in row 5 in C-class:

So if that's anything to go by, for relative comparison purposes, hopefully it helps!!

Transpac, I was hoping for a picture exactly like yours. I checked out seatexpert, and it does seem quite a bit better than SG.

I wish they would incorporate pictures like yours on their charts. (this is the view from row 5, this is the view from row 10)
That would be a big help.

Am now nervous of both 14 and 21. Might move to the back of the 'Bus just to make sure I don't stare at aluminum for 10 hrs!

I'd suggest you seat at the rear section because it offers a great view, your booked seats should be in the mid-wing section so the view isn't great. Rear Section to be safe. For Row 14, you might have a little view of the engine, not sure. For Row 21, I'm pretty sure you would be staring at the wing.
It's a cultural thing.

I have flown DL's A332s frequently, and believe that 21 will be right on the wing. I always chose 29 because I used to consider it the next best thing to Business class in the plane   due to the leg room.
My memory is failing me right now - I recall something imperfect with row 12. If I am not way off the mark, there is either no window at all, or a misaligned window. If you are as much a fan of having a nice window view with no wing obstruction, go with 29 or higher.
By the way, here is a view from row 29:

R-

thanks for the heads up, I wish there was a relational database of videos like yours and pics like TP787s.

I was able to get my Thursday PDX-AMS flight back to the mid 30s row, so that will be good. Still stuck in row 14 on the way bac.

I will slide back on the March PDX_AMS run as well and take careful notes of what is good and bad seating for the trip this week.

Thanks all, very helpful

If you look on Delta's website they have the wing in their seat maps.

Burnsie-

Yeah, I saw that, I just don't know how reliable that is from a window view standpoint. Basically I need to fly C class or book behind Row 29 to get a good view it seems is the consensus from all

I guess I get suspicious that the pictures are accurate when they show a 763 on their A332 page.....

Thats because the dimension aircraft they put on there, they don't have any for the pre-merger NW fleet since those were done a few years ago.

Don't forget the window seats have space robbing IFE boxes under the seats. You can lose a significant amount of space, if that is important to you.
