Favorite Looking A/C

Thu Oct 28, 2010 6:15 pm

Like to see what everyone thinks about this.
I'd like to know everyone's favorite looking commercial aircraft broken into two catagories.
1-Prettiest. For me its the 777.
2-Most intimidating. Most Bad A**. Mine is the MD11 looking head on.

1. For me, the best looking aircraft has to be the A340-500, particularly in TG livery; A330 comes next. The A330 looks great on finals - the angle of its landing gear makes it look like its going to swoop and pick off an E-jet off the taxiway and take it away to its nest for lunch!
2. The most bad*ss looking aircraft ... have to say the IL76! There's something about that aircraft when you say its silhouette on a dark night ...

1. Convair 580
2. Boeing 727
3. DC-9
4. DC-8
5. DC-10/MD-11
The right decision at the wrong time, is still a wrong decision. "Hal Carr"

The Boeing 747-400 is the best looking aircraft out there. It will for always be the Queen of the Skies.

Yep! Its sad that its becoming rarer these days. I really love the 747-400, I mean, there's something about it that's really attractive.

My favorite one would be the 77L and the 77W especially on EK's colors. I also like the A320 and the A345.
It's a cultural thing.

Ha, so true!

Prettiest:

A318, cos it's a lil baby

Most intimidating:

...  ...I have to say A346 - the length of it, the angry head on look, the middle tilted landing gear...& those sexy RRs

The 727-200 and 757-200 round out my top five. I'm also gaining an appreciation for the Embraer 170/175 and Bombardier CRJ-900 but they're too new still to put them in my "top" list.

*Prettiest: TU-154M....sleek with lots of angles and slants. Honestly a work of aviation art that give the impression of speed and style....sort of in the same manner as does a late 50's era Corvette.

*Most Intimidating....B-52...enough said!

Prettiest: Boeing 707

Most intimidating: huh, never really thought about that one...I suppose it would be a toss-up between the MD-80 family and the 777 family--not necessarily because of their looks (I also find both to be rather stylish), but because of the engines that move them. When one of these planes roars down the runway, you know it!
Good night, and keep watching the skis. Uh, skies.
