My first ever was DL. Totally unexpected. I went to school in the UK one Summer, so I made two trips to the UK plus some domestic flying and that made me Medallion.

The first I ever tried for and got was CO. I totally became a huge CO fan in the last 90s after reading "From Worst to First"

When I went to work for AA, I got AA to match my CO elite status, so I got AA Gold, and then kept it a couple years.

Now I have nothing!
I do have the lowest elite status with three hotel chains! SPG, Marriott, Hilton.

Past:

AF/KLM FlyingBlue
Iberia
BMI

Present:

Qatar 1st tier - Burgundy I think.

Since moving back out to the sticks I've not flown a single airline or alliance enough to generate a status. The Qatar status came about simply by taking one return trip on them.

I normally only fly commercially a few times a year, so I typically never even come close to getting elite status (but if it were possible to have elite status on the corporate shuttle I'm sure I would). This year, however, thanks to a work trip to India plus a couple of domestic flights, I actually managed to just barely earn Premier status on United this year. This is the first time I've had elite status on any airline ever.

American airlines gold 2007-2009. DL matched my status in late 2008 and I've been elite with them since. I also have a silver delta amex card and a united mileage plus credit card.

I have flown BA across the pond a dozen times, plus once to Sydney, in the last twelve months. Which, if it's all on discounted economy tickets, doesn't earn you any "tier points" which is what you need to move up the food chain. So despite spending thousands of £ and knowing T5 as well as I know my own living room, I'm not going to be elite anything with BA for a while yet. I fly BA cos I trust them to run a safe operation and the crew are always great, but the colour of my Exec Club card is shameful!
fly Saha Air 707s daily from Tehran's downtown Mehrabad to Mashhad, Kish Island and Ahwaz

American: AAdvantage Gold for life. Even if I stop flying American, I'll still be Gold.
I make it to PlAAtinum for life, great. I'll enjoy a lot of travel. I don't, not as great but I'll still be happy.

Currently a Flying Blue member (Air France/KLM) but no elite status.
