United Changed My Itinerary, Why?

UA just changed my itinenary (LGA-ORD-DEN) From 8AM departure to 7:30 AM @LGA and from 11AM to 10AM departure at ORD. Same A/C. I'm flying with my parents but we booked it differently (there's also changed) since we bought it with our UA Miles. My question is why? IS this a regular sched change or is this because of their merger?

Same thing happened to me! But I am flying CO and they changed the itinerary and moved the departure time of my flight 10min and changed the flight number.

I think it is because of the CO and UA merger, they are synchronizing their flights and changing their flight numbers. Nothing to worry about though!

Hey, they changed my seats too! But the change back worked for me on continental.com, weird that it doesn´t work on united.com.

I just called UA and they changed my seats based on my preference. I was worried at first because of all the rants about UA's agents being in India, it's actually not bad. I didn't had to wait and they were friendly and helped me with my problem. Kudos to UA.

Enjoy your flight too!  

PS: The seat selection now works after I called them.



BTW: Is 58 minutes enough time to connect in ORD? I'm arriving from LGA @ 9:02 AM and departing to ORD @ 10:00 AM.

You've got plenty of time, just don't waste it. Move quickly, expeditiously, and politely to your next gate.

I've had the same problems with every UA year since I first flew with them in 2006. Every UA itinerary I've booked has had a change, so its nothing new but yes the merger will cause more changes due to different aircrafts, muitple flights at the same time to the same destination etc

How far out is your trip? Schedules tend to change up until about 60 days before departure. Afterall, 50% of tickets are sold in the week up to departure for domestic flights, so the few that book more than 60 days out usually can be accommodated easily enough.
If you have never designed an airplane part before, let the real designers do the work!

I've got a weird one for you.

Yesterday (Sunday) I flew ORD-MCO on UA-288. The day before (Saturday) I checked in on-line and printed my boarding pass with seat 15C printed on the pass. Sunday I was paged to the podium at ORD, gate B-8 and was presented with a new boarding pass for seat 21-B. My extra-room exit-row aisle seat had been involuntarily changed for a **middle seat** in the back.

Since I'm a 1-K, I hollered and screamed until the gate agent called a supervisor. The supervisor could find no other seats on the plane -- except 9-E -- a middle seat between a sumo-wrestler look-alike and guy taller than Wilt Chamberlain (who both turned out to be good people). I rode to Orlando squished in the middle of these two.

I thought it was unusual getting my seat involuntarily changed **after** I checked in.

  nice. Highly unusual not to be upgraded on this route as a 1K by the way. Glad they found a good seat for you though   I'm sure the GA tried really hard!

I should add on that during the flight, 9-D paid for all the snack boxes (for 9-D, 9-E and 9-F); I paid for all the wine, beer and spirits, and 9-F -- who had no credit card -- got off Scot-free.

Could be worse. MU once changed my flight departure to 8 hours earlier and didn't inform me. Luckily I have OCD when it comes to checking flight status, departure times, etc.
