ID 90 Chances On UA PS Flights To SFO

Thu Feb 24, 2011 8:57 pm

Hey all, quick question - if one were to fly ID 90 on United from JFK to SFO in one of the premium cabins, F or J doesn't matter, what are the chances of actually getting on in F or J? Same applies for SFO-JFK if that is different...thanks!

Depends on bookings. C tends to sell very well, so you'd probably be looking at either F or Y. United is however pretty good about getting staff in F space permitting.

There is no chance of business class on the route. You can get F or Y. Business class is filled with upgrades. However, UA does not allow double upgrades from Y to F, so F is upgrades from business or full fare people.

The chances of F are quite high because very few UA employees non-rev on the route since UA does not have that many people in JFK. Its far easier to get on than ORD or IAD- West Coast. Another tip is that the morning flights out of JFK and afternoon flights out of LAX/SFO tend to give you a better chance of getting F.

Economy always depends on the day. They overbook, but expect people to upgrade. With on 72 economy seats, it can get tight. However there is a lot of frequency, so you can always get the next flight.
