If you plan to fly CX
make sure you have the flight written for CX
and the correct city pair. CX
, and possibly KU
require it be done this way--regardless of what the ZED agreement says!! Most of the rest of the ZED carriers understand and accept the agreement as written (Valid all ZED carriers, and the same zone or less) You should have little problem with TG
, their people are really great!!
If you plan to fly HKG
for example, you might want to have the ticket issued for CX
will have no problem accepting it, but CX
will likely not accept the ticket if it's written on TG
. Also make sure it says "Valid all ZED carriers" on the last line. Also for CX
is NOT the same as BKK
. I don't understand what they don't understand about the ZED agreement, but since they own the airplane I guess we have to do it their way.
Also check the ZED fares. If you work for a *A carrier you may be able to fly ZL
(Zone Low) on TG
, yet ZM
. You might want to get two tickets issued then. If not, make sure you have one at the higher zone fare.
you will have to check in at the Staff Travel counter at least 2 hours before the flight (they may accept lesser times, but the rule is 2 hours.). If you get stuck there, there is a nice coffee shop near the counter that has free wireless internet available for customers. They also have free computer/internet available--you just need to get a mouse from the clerk.
I recall being upgraded on CX
once, but I think it was only because it was full in the back. This was several years ago though.
Have a great trip and enjoy BKK
. I make the trip from ORD
about 10 times a year.
